We are slowly but surely getting back to "normal" here in Islamorada and the rest of the Upper Keys. All of the keys were officially open for tourism as of October 1st. Part of that decision to open included having hotels and businesses to accommodate the tourist.

As you have heard on the news the Florida Keys was heavily impacted by Hurricane Irma. What you haven't heard is how quickly we are recovering and how the entire Florida Keys was not totally devasted by this hurricane. I do not want to take anything away from the areas that received the most devastation, but it is important to know that the Upper Keys and Key West are a little battered and bruised, but overall we will be able to recover pretty quickly.

So the weather is not always PERFECT here in the Florida Keys. However, sometimes we have to make the best of the situation that we are dealt. Yesterday was calling for some rain and wind but my clients only had this one day to go fishing so we decided we were going to try and get it done before the rain came.

Tarpon season is one of our busiest times here in the Florida Keys. We catch small tarpon throughout the year, but depending on the weather the big boys start arriving in March or April.
