Fishing in the Florida Keys

The week between Christmas and New Year's is always a super busy week in the Florida Keys and this year is no different. Yesterday I took some of my regular clients out for a half day trip in the morning. Bill, Hank and Mack are staying at Hawk's Cay on Duck Key but they drove up to Islamorada for our charter.

When they were here in June Bill caught a tarpon but yesterday they all caught one. We also kept busy catching snappers, groupers and jacks and I cleaned the snapper for them to take home for dinner. Most restaurants here in Islamorada will cook your catch for you and there is nothing like eating that fresh fish that you caught that same day.

We don't take big tarpon out of the water but this one was within limits and we got him back in the water right way to ensure his safety.
