Bowed Up Fishing Charters

We LOVE to Hear from our Clients

So the weather is not always PERFECT here in the Florida Keys. Sometimes we have to make the best of the situation that we are dealt. Yesterday was calling for some rain and wind but my clients only had this one day to go fishing so we decided we were going to try and get it done before the rain came.

Part of our job is to stay on top of the weather. We are constantly monitoring our weather apps to see when they rain is going to come and what the wind is projected to be. We have learned that you can't always trust the predictions and we usually wait to right before the trip to make the call.

Yesterday I was pretty certain that we could get our half day in before the rain came. Fred and Chris were hoping to catch a tarpon and I was going to do my best to make that happen.

We left World Wide Sportsman in Islamorada, Florida at 7:30 a.m. Our first stop was to catch live bait. We were fortunate that the bait I wanted to catch was at the first place I checked. So we loaded up on the perfect size pilchards and set out for the tarpon grounds. I knew exactly where I wanted to go. We got there, set up and soon enough Fred had a 100-pound tarpon on. Unfortunately, they only had a half day to fish and we didn't get Chris one but they were super thrilled with Fred's 100-pound catch!

Later that night I received a very nice email from Fred and Chris. They had recognized the challenges of yesterday's weather and they were appreciative of my efforts.

*We did not get a picture yesterday - this pic is from a previous charter.
