Bonefishing in Islamorada, Florida
Scott Bodziak, the General Manager of World Wide Sportsman here in Islamorada, Florida asked me to put together a charter for a few of his colleagues so they could get some shots for an upcoming Bass Pro catalog. They were looking for some sort of game fish that they could get for a few quick pictures. I knew I would need another guide on the boat so one of us could pole the flats for a bonefish or permit and the other one of us could cast. So I enlisted Capt. Larry Syndor to help.
We took Scott on the boat with us, while the other boat with the photographer stayed close. Very early into our trip we caught two bonefish that worked perfectly for their shot. I assisted them with the fish to make sure it was quick and painless for the fish. Our main goal was to get the fish back in the water as quickly as possible without any harm being done.
So it was a successful trip and Scott even caught his first bonefish! We will let you know if we see the shots in the Spring Catalog.
